Xiu Xiu to Release Debut Album

Disappointed audience members expected barely legal Asian sluts

Xiu Xiu, a San Francisco musical collective not named for a Hong Kong knockoff of Barbarella, has been playing dates in their native San Francisco Bay area of late, and will shatter champagne on the hull this coming January as they embark on a more ambitious west coast tour. The tour is in anticipation of the group's debut album, Knife Play, available on February 19th through Kill Rock Star's experimental subsidiary, 5 Rue Christine.

Xiu Xiu got together in late 2000 via the typical network of band, personal, and label affiliations, chose a catchy name, and now wants you to listen to them for money, an exercise that they would like to think will be enlightening, edifying, or at the very least entertaining for you. Might be best to get a pre-nup before the show. They have tracks on a panoply of compilations and have played at Stanford's famous KZSU station, which is currently run by a mad genius.
