Noise Pop Celebrates Ten Years of Madness

It's the absinthe

This is it, baby. The big one. The double digits. The big one-zero. Noise Pop, my snookums, we're celebrating our tenth anniversary. Can you believe we've made it this far? I mean, remember THE EVENING at the Kennel Club ten years ago-- who knew that it was the beginnings of a match made in heaven and the biggest indie rock love fest in San Francisco and actually, the entire West Coast? People say that as time passes, it all goes down hill. But no, my feisty little tiger, each anniversary becomes sweeter, bigger, and sexier.

When we celebrate our anniversary, from Wednesday, February 27th through Sunday, March 3rd, we are going to flaunt our hottest line-up yet, with bands like Modest Mouse, the New Pornographers, Call and Response, the Dismemberment Plan, Guided by Voices, and so many more. Plus, my little butter sucker, we have doubled the size of our Noise Pop Film Festival in the course of one year, which is of course incomparable to what you do for, uh, my size, you naughty little rump wiggler. Documentary films featuring the Clash, Radiohead, Nick Drake and the Flaming Lips will entice the eager eyes of our babies, those music loving attendees of our festival. Our thousands of children will learn about the only all-female garage band in Mexico City, a death metal group that encourages literacy, and obsessive record collectors among others of which I'm sure our dysfunctional indie rock children can relate.

During our five days together, Noise Pop, we'll make hot, passionate love that will exhaust you in and out, leaving you with THE FAINT. Maybe later we can diddle with the NEW PORNOGRAPHERS and that new GADGET, though I'm not too comfortable with your IMPERIAL TEEN fantasies. Oh, my dingle muncher, my sugarbunch, my MODEST MOUSE-- how SELDOM do I wish for another. And how could I, with the way you work THE GLANDS. You've really made a GOOD LIFE for us. I'd rather eat MOLDY PEACHES than live a day without my BUILT LIKE ALASKA Noise Pop. And even through the bad times, like when I was losing my mind and thought I was GUIDED BY VOICES, you took me to the PRESTON SCHOOL OF INDUSTRY where I, uh, learned... about... industry.

Noise Pop, I love you, but if you ever leave me, I'll be forced to proceed with the DISMEMBERMENT PLAN I have crafted for you.
