Uncle Tupelo to Reissue Out-of-Print Back Catalog

Uncle Kracker still no stranger to shame

In a year in which Wilco's Yankee Hotel Foxtrot found a comfy spot on just about every critic's Top 10 list, and Ryan Adams' crotch found a comfy spot on just about every Gap billboard, the success of alt-country's contemporary leftovers has rekindled an interest in the clumsily-labeled genre. If major labels are good for anything, it's capitalizing on a hot market, and what better band to wave the genre flag than the progenitors of No Depression themselves? Get ready for the long-awaited Uncle Tupelo reissues on March 11.

The band's first three records-- No Depression, Still Feel Gone, and March 16-20, 1992-- have been out of print for some time now, but Jeff "I'm'a win me a Grammy" Tweedy and Jay "I'm'a get me a sandwich" Farrar have recently regained the rights to the masters for all three albums. According to Columbia/Legacy, the albums are "stunningly remastered, with amazing bonus tracks and expanded packaging." Well, naturally.
