Björk to Drop New Full-Length This Summer

Meester Fly to drop after hours of flying mindlessly into window

Though she's known for spending years in studios, crafting her albums into lushly produced sonic masterpieces, Björk's official website reported yesterday that, a mere two years after the release of 2001's Vespertine, she may have another full-length release in stores in time for a summer 2003 mini-tour that will take her to Italy, France and Germany. The report, written in oblique stream-of-consciousness by the website's ubiquitous Meester Fly, reveals that the Icelandic princess has been recording a "song a day. song a day. for how many days. I do not know. but some days," and that she'll be hard at work on the record for the next few months.

n At this point, very little is known about the album, tentatively titled LakeExperience, but we can promise that our continual pleas for Björk to just try collaborating with The Microphones' Phil Elvrum have again gone ignored. We'll fill you in when more details become available. In the meantime, the website is hosting two Quicktime video clips (you gotta click on the image in the lower right-hand corner to get to the second one) which offer a glimpse into the studio where the album is being recorded, along with audio of some very rudimentary soundbytes from the album. The only discernable lyric: "Out of my way for you," glitched out in Max Headroom stutter.

n Oh yeah, and here are the dates for that summer 2003 mini-tour we were talking about:

n 06-06 Verona, Italy - Amphitheatre
06-16 Paris, France - Bercy
06-21 Hamburg, Germany - Hurricane Festival
