Dirty Three Release New Album, Plan Mega-Tour
Everyone's favorite Australians, The Dirty Three, are releasing a new album entitled She Has No Strings
Apollo via Touch and Go on February 18th. It was recorded at Les Instants Chavires in Paris, and at
Sing Sing Studios in Melbourne, Australia. For the uninformed, the Dirty Three are an instrumental trio
("three" for trio: violinist Warren Ellis, guitarist Mick Turner, and drummer Jim White), and if you have
to ask what the "dirty" is for, then you clearly haven't seen Warren when he's ripped to the tits. In
addition to their usual instruments, She Has No Strings Apollo sees Turner on organ and bass, and
Ellis on piano. Tracklist:
01 Alice Wading
02 She Has No Strings
03 Long Way To Go With No Punch
04 No Stranger Than That
05 Sister Let Them Try And Follow
06 She Lifted The Net
07 Rude (And Then Some Slight Return)
Pitchfork readers "down under" will be pleased to note that the Dirty Three have just announced an Australian
tour for the first part of March-- not to mention Mick Turner's art opening which will take place at Mario's
Cafe in Fitzroy from February 4-24. And for North American fans who've been holding their collective breath
while reading this article: Yes, The Dirty Three will be-- for the first time in over two years-- embarking
on an extensive tour of the U.S. and Canada in March and April. They'll be joined by Zak Sally of Low on
