Xiu Xiu Release Album, Tour North America
A year after the release of their full-length debut, Knife Play, Xiu Xiu are preparing to unleash their second album, entitled A Promise. The record will be released on February 18th through the 5 Rue Christine label-- and it's sure to make you spill your Slammin' Strawberry Kiwi drink all over dad's new ottoman, by force of either the music contained within, or the crazified artwork. The new full-length will feature an album cover with a picture that merits an NC-17 rating (or at least one of those Tipper Gore-sanctioned warning labels) for its showcase of a Vietnamese man, his doll, and his, um, penis. Collective Jyrk Records will be handling the vinyl release of A Promise. (Visit their website for the headache-inducing backgrounds. Jeeesus.) The band's also got a free MP3 for the new track "Sad Pony Guerilla Girl" available at the 5 Rue Christine website. Tracklist:
01 Sad Pony Guerrilla Girl
02 Apistat Commander
03 Walnut House
04 20,000 Deaths for Eidelyn Gonzales, 20,000 Deaths for Jamie Peterson
05 Pink City
