Deerhoof to Release New Full-Length, Tour

They will totally owe you one if you pull the burr out their paw

Deerhoof-- the answer to that age-old question, "What would a Rockestra-like jam consisting of the Plastic Ono Band with Yoko singing Björk, The Who, The Melvins, and your four year-old daughter sound like?"-- are releasing a brand new album on 5RC, the experimental sister label of Kill Rock Stars, on March 18th. Entitled Apple O', the band's fourth LP follows last year's outstanding Reveille, which ranked #19 on Pitchfork's list of the Top 50 Albums of 2002.

n According to the label, which has made an MP3 of the track "Sealed With a Kiss" available for download at their website, we can expect no less than "rock and roll" from the band this time around: "Apple O' finds our favorite foursome in the mood for love: Never have they sounded more passionate, more raw, or more romantic. The songcraft is simply stunning, even by Deerhoof standards. Dance, weep, and sing along as Adam + Eve dine on apples while candlelight flickers, bombs explode, panda bears shake pink tamborines..." If you would humor us for a moment, try to imagine someone dancing, weeping and singing to Deerhoof all at the same time, and then wonder if perhaps they're maybe expecting just a bit too much emotion from their fans. But hey, if the album's even almost as weird as we're thinking it will be, you just. Never. Know. Tracklist:

n 01 Dummy Discards a Heart
02 Heart Failure
03 Sealed with a Kiss

06 Apple Bomb
07 The Forbidden Fruits
08 L'Amour Stories
