Aislers Set Launch 33-Date U.S. Tour
Bay area retro popsters, The Aislers Set are launching a whopping 33-date coast-to-coast tour of the United
States, beginning tomorrow in their hometown. The San Francisco group started out as the solo garage project
of songwriter Amy Linton, but was later augmented by guitarist Wyatt Cusick, drummer Yoshi Nakamoto, organist
Jen Cohen and bassist Alicia VandenHevvel. This lineup released two albums: 1998's The Last Match
and 2000's Terrible Things Happen. Their latest effort, How I Learned to Write Backwards,
was released last month on Slumberland Records, and is a poignant and charming pop record, if you don't
mind us saying so, that takes one more brave step towards officially plunging Belle & Sebastian into irrelevance.
The group will be touring America this March and April in support of that record, bringing their Spector-esque
reverbatronics to a town near you. Don't forget to pack some heat-- you never know when Dee Dee Ramone's
gonna show up and crash the party. Oh, wait...
