Black Heart Procession Go Global

Like South America, but not enough to be stabbed to death there

After last year's fairly extensive fall tour that covered the southern and eastern states, the Black Heart Procession is on the march again in support of their latest record, Amore del Tropico. This time around, they've apparently decided to make good with fans residing in typically unofficial stops such as Denver and Salt Lake City, and those of us located in Pitchfork's western branch office couldn't be more pleased. But before arriving at your local Pony Express stop, founding Black Heart members and former Three Mile Pilot bandmates Pall Jenkins and Tobias Nathaniel will appear this month as a two-piece version of the band, opening for Dirty Three in Australia. Dates:

03-06 Sydney, Australia - The Metro
03-07 Sydney, Australia - The Metro
03-08 Melbourne, Australia - The Forum
03-09 Melbourne, Australia - The Forum

After returning home and taking a month to recover from International Date Line-induced jet lag, the procession will resume with full accompaniment for the following U.S. dates:

04-05 Los Angeles, CA - El Rey
04-06 San Francisco, CA - Great American
04-08 Portland, OR - Aladdin
04-09 Seattle, WA - Showbox
04-10 Victoria BC - Lucky Bar
04-11 Vancouver, BC Richard's
04-13 Boise, ID - Neurolux
04-14 Salt Lake City, UT - Zephyr
04-15 Denver, CO - Bluebird
04-17 Albuquerque, NM - Launch Pad
04-18 Phoenix, AZ - Nita's
04-19 Tucson, AZ - Solar Culture

The Black Heart Procession will also be delivering more intrigue and drama via DVD. Sources at Touch and Go report that the band has been editing the video counterpart to Amore del Tropico, which should arrive on store shelves later this year. It will contain a video for each of the songs on the record and will apparently solve the murder mystery contained within the lyrics of Amore del Tropico. Rosebud, anyone?
