The Velvet Teen Tour Western U.S.

Oh, dude, we totally just got the pun! Whew, that's clever!

It's been almost a year since Santa Rosa's Velvet Teen dropped their first full-length, Out of Fierce Parade, on Portland's Slowdance Records. Yet they tour like... banshees... that tour. The oh-so-Buckley-esque 'Teen wrapped up some heavy touring with Cursive late last year, as well as Denali, The Gloria Record, and so many more. This spring, they can be spotted on stage with the cuddly Death Cab for Cutie kids and recent Sub Pop signees The Thermals. Their most significant stops occur at none other than Austin's SXSW, where they'll play three shows in two days. We have a hunch they're busting their asses in an attempt to work off the disgraceful 4.7 awarded them for Fierce Parade. Keep pluggin', kids, someone at the newswire over here obviously loves ya!

Pitchfork's newshounds have detected signs that The Velvet Teen is finally growing road weary, and is again longing for the studio. The band reportedly will begin working on a new record at the conclusion of the spring tour before heading over for a tour of Japan. And if all this virtual non-stop touring isn't enough (isn't it?), look for their totally DIY video for "Radiapathy" to air on MTV sometime soon in the future. These kids are going places... um, literally. Okay, then, it's time to own up to this story's headline. The dates!:
