Fischerspooner Tour the Western U.S.
[Posted Monday, September 15th, 2003 04:00:00 Pitchfork Central Time]
With The Polyphonic Spree and Broken Social Scene on tour this fall,
the stage floorboards of the nation's medium sized venues are taking
quite a beating-- given the aforementioned acts' double-digit roster
of bandmembers. And now along comes the Fischerspooner show to add
more mess and stress. The glam/glitter electroclash duo is packing
up its troupe of twenty-some fashionistas along with a stage show
boasting confetti, glitter, chocolate sauce and other presumed
theatrics for a three-week tour. To be precise, it's called the
"Riot of Glitter and Feathers Tour 2003".
Fans living in or near the cities listed below might consider
themselves lucky given the fact that, due to their high-cost stage
production, they've rarely ventured outside the New York City limits.
However, House of Blues Concerts is sponsoring the "happenings," and
thusly improves their profit margin by strategically booking the
shows in their own venues. Also, we should mention that Kenna, the
'80s-neo-soulman-produced-by-the-Neptunes of the moment finds himself
in the warmup role for all dates:
09-15 San Francisco, CA - Fillmore
09-16 San Francisco, CA - Fillmore
09-17 San Diego, CA - 4th & B Theater
09-19 Las Vegas, NV - House of Blues
09-20 Anaheim, CA - House of Blues
09-21 West Hollywood, CA - House of Blues
09-22 Tempe, AZ - Marquee Theatre
09-24 Boulder, CO - Boulder Theater
09-26 Dallas, TX - Gypsy Tea Room
09-27 Austin, TX - Stubb's
09-28 Houston, TX - Engine Room
10-01 New Orleans, LA - House of Blues
10-02 Atlanta, GA - Earthlink Live
10-04 Detroit, MI - Majestic Theatre
10-05 Chicago, IL - House of Blues
Also, this fall, when not cavorting about onstage, the dynamic duo of
Warren Fischer and Casey Spooner are reportedly in the studio, recording
the follow-up to this year's (or last year's, depending on which country
you live in) debut, #1. The new record is expected to drop sometime
in early 2004.
