Aislers Set Tour with Yo La Tengo, Erase Errata
[Posted Wednesday, September 17th, 2003 18:00:00 Pitchfork Central Time]
Twee pop is for lovers and the Aislers Set is the soundtrack for summer-turns-to-fall romance. Singer, guitarist and primary songwriter Amy Linton (who bares a remarkable resemblance to Elijah Wood) makes the other kind of dance music, the kind welcome among both hand-holders and lemonade-drinkers. Her San Francisco mostly-girl quintet has been touring all year in support of their fine album on Suicide Squeeze Records, How I Learned to Write Backwards, and have returned to the road this month for a coast-to-coast tour in support of that popular Malawian vocalist, Yolanda Ngo-- oh, wait, that's actually Yo La Tengo, folks. Give me points for trying. Like all good May-September parables, the Aislers Set will leave us in mid-October for a short European tour with Bay Area experimentalists Erase Errata.
