In an unfortunate turn of events, Supergrass have had to cancel their remaining U.S tour dates due to an illness in the Coomes family (guitarist/singer Gaz Coomes and keysman Rob Coomes are brothers). The following message was posted to the band's website, Children of the Monkey Basket: "Due to personal reasons, we've had to cancel our appeareances at the 9:30 in Washington, the Warsaw in Brooklyn and our two support slots for Radiohead at Madison Square Garden. This is not something we do lightly and we can only apologize to people who were looking forward to seeing us play. Sorry folks."

Thom Yorke, Radiohead frontman, addressed the crowd at their October 6th show that Supergrass would not be opening for them during their two Madison Square Garden dates. A spokesman for Supergrass told New Musical Express that "[Supergrass is] coming back to the UK due to illness in one of the band members' familiy." Low will be taking the place of Supergrass as the opener for tonight's and tomorrow's shows at Madison Square Garden. Pitchfork would like to offer their condolences to Supergrass, their families, and friends.
