Greg Dulli's Twilight Singers Tour, Release Limited-Edition EP's
[Posted Wednesday, October 15th, 2003 04:00:00 Pitchfork Central Time]
The last time we sat down together and talked Dulli, we reminisced about the Afghan Whigs days, and we shared our excitement over the long-awaited second release from the Twilight Singers. And I promised you an update. Well, here we are, up to our asses in Blackberry Belle, with so much to tell. Turns out the album, out this week on Birdman in the U.S. and One Little Indian in the UK, is just the beginning.
First off, there's a couple of limited-edition EP's ya'll should probably know about: you have a decent chance of getting your hands on Black is the Color of My True Love's Hair via the Birdman Records website (but hurry, as the release is limited to 2,500 copies). The EP features Greg Dulli's arrangement of the traditonal piece made famous by Nina Simone, as well as two other tracks that can easily be summed up as trademark Dulli, none of which appear on Blackberry Belle. My advice: get it now. You won't be disappointed. Tracklist:
01 Black is the Color of My True Love's Hair
02 Domani
03 Son of the Morning Star
The other EP, Killer Teenage Wristband, might be a little harder to track down. The radio-only promo CD features three songs-- two of which appear on the album, but the third is an outtake. Tracklist:
01 Teenage Wristband
02 The Killer
03 So Tight
