American Analog Set Touring In October and November
[Posted Wednesday, October 15th, 2003 04:00:00 Pitchfork Central Time]
American Analog Set are on tour. There, we said it. Buoyed by acclaim for their recent album Promise of Love, the Set are hitting the road with all kinds of people, including Earlimart, The Ladybug Transistor, and Death Cab For Cutie. As you must know by now, Death Cab's Ben Gibbard and American Analog Set's Andrew Kenney teamed up earlier this year for the latest in Post-Parlo Records' Home split EP's. American Analog Set will also be appearing at the rescheduled All Tomorrow's Parties festival in L.A. on November 9th, a festival which, as we reported back in August, will feature all kinds of acts including Sonic Youth, Cat Power, Built to Spill, Spoon, and many more.
American Analog Set, meanwhile, besides promising love, are also promising to add significantly more dates to their itinerary in November and December. We're told that the December dates will have a Southeast/Midwest/East Coast kind of flavor, and we will of course keep you updated on those, as they are confirmed. That leg of the tour will be undertaken in the company of post-rock instrumentalists and sometime Tiger Style labelmates The Album Leaf, who have recently been recording in Iceland with members of The Black Heart Procession. American Analog Set will also be touring in Europe next year before going back into the studio to make a new record. As Tiger Style told us when we made polite and discreet inquiries as their activities and whereabouts, "These boys work hard." The dates:
10-24 New York, NY - Mercury Lounge (Tiger Style CMJ showcase w/ Album Leaf, Appleseed Cast, Ida)
10-25 Boston, MA - The Middle East (w/ Death Cab for Cutie)
10-26 New Haven, CT - Bar Night Club (free show w/ The Brian Jamestown Massacre)
10-28 Hamtramck, MI - Smalls
10-29 Chicago, IL - Abbey Pub (w/ Chin Up Chin Up)
10-31 Milwaukee, WI - Onopa Brewing Company (w/ Earlimart)
11-01 Minneapolis, MN - Triple Rock Social Club *
11-04 Seattle, WA - Graceland *
11-05 Portland, OR - Berbatis Pan *
11-07 San Francisco, CA - Bimbo's *
11-11 Tempe, AZ - Stinkweeds
11-12 Tucson, AZ - Plush
* with The Ladybug Transistor
