The Album Leaf Heads Out On Tour, Readies Releases
Collaboration with Frances Bean Cobain due in 2057

We reported last month that The Album Leaf were heading to Iceland to record their next album at Sigur Rós' studio. Now the album is recorded and half-mixed, and Jimmy LaValle is taking it on the road in December, forgoing his holiday plans for your benefit; we hope you're appreciative. The first half of the tour will take LaValle and openers American Analog Set through most of the South and East, then he'll head back towards the west coast with Via Satellite in tow. Here are the dates that have been announced so far:

The Album Leaf are shopping the mostly-finished album around, so no word on a firm release date. LaValle hopes to head back to Iceland in January to finish mixing for an early 2004 release. And, it's official-- according to Dave Brown from Holiday Matinee, the second seven-inch in the Album Leaf collaboration series (this one with Marc Bianchi of Her Space Holiday) is out for pressing right now and will be available on the upcoming tour. The third seven-inch in the Better Looking Records series, with Pall Jenkins of The Black Heart Procession, is currently being recorded, and should be out in January.
