Stones Throw Records Tour, Newstravaganza
Some dates canceled due to proximity to glass houses, Billy Joel

Stones Throw, an indie hip-hop label curated by DJ /producer /rejected Cadbury treat Peanut Butter Wolf, is winding down their fall tour, but in no wise are they resting on their laurels - these cats are so busy that by the time they slow down, they'll have to rub down their laurels with Icy Hot just to-- wait, what the hell do "laurels" actually refer to in this context anyway? Better leave it alone.

But before we get to the sundry goodies, I better tell you about the tour, since it might be over by the time you get to the end of this item. The aforementioned Peanut Butter Wolf is on the road through late-ish November, with Wildchild, the Lootpack MC who, according to Stone's Throw, caused wack MC's to run for cover when he debuted. P-Diddy is running right now, with a mohawk to boot! He says he's running for charity (maybe so he can pay the Malaysian children who stitch together Sean Paul gear more than 13 cents an hour?), but, in light of this revelation, maybe it's cover for which he runs.

Also on the tour are Lootpack's DJ Romes, and the refreshingly non-pseudonymed Dudley Perkins, who earned his stripes with a cameo on the Alkaholiks' Coast to Coast. The remaining dates:

11-14 San Diego, CA - 4th & B
11-19 Austin, TX - Mercury Lounge
11-26 Kawasaki, Japan - Club Cheeta (Wildchild only, B-Boy Battle)

Peanut Butter Wolf is sitting on a new release: his "lost" album, an early '90s collaboration with the late Charizma called Big Shots, will see the light of day on November 18th. PBW, then called DJ Chris Cut, began working with Charizma in 1990-- a union that continued until Charizma's untimely passing in 1993. When PBW founded Stones Throw in 1996, his first release was the Charizma single "My World Premiere," which will be featured on Big Shots. Stones Throw will also release a twelve-inch single from Big Shots ("Here's a Smirk") in November. The track list for the LP is as follows:

01 Here's a Smirk
02 Methods
03 Jack the Mack
04 Talk About a Girl
05 Red Light Green Light
06 Tell You Something
07 Gatha Round
08 Devotion
09 Apple Juice Break
10 My World Premiere
11 Ice Cream Truck
12 Charizma What
13 Fair Weathered Friend
14 Soon to Be Large
15 Pacin' the Floor

Whew. I'm spent. Besides all that reporting, have you ever run a spellcheck on a story about hip-hop groups? It's fucking taxing, you gotta click "Ignore" about every other word. Will someone be a mensch and get some Icy Hot for my laurels?
