According to Dave 1 of Montreal gangsta-lectronica duo Chromeo, a debut full length entitled She's in Control will hit shelves February 3rd, 2004 via taste-makers Vice Records. Dave and partner Pee Thug have already piqued the interest of big time dance producers Trevor Jackson, DFA, and Tiga, who discovered the duo wickey-wickeying in their hometown. Mixer, New Musical Express, and The New York Times are already spanking it to this band, and we'd sure hate to be left out, so here goes.

Composed using only analog synthesizers and a talkbox, She's in Control is being touted as the '80s album that time forgot: sex-filled electronic funk fronted by the ghost of Roger Troutman. "We do draw inspiration from songs like Hall & Oates' 'I Can't Go For That' or New Edition's 'Cool It Now,' but that's just because they're some of the greatest pieces of music humanity has ever produced," explains 1. "The '80s factor is incidental. We like a bunch of 90s stuff as well." He also wants you to know that he and Pee Thug both love DJ Quik.

Chromeo will play select dates throughout the fall. Nothing's confirmed as of now, but Dave hopes to hit New York, Paris, and London. Sounds like he'll be jacking a plane, dawg. Coincidentally, I hope to be elected Pope in the spring after I grow feathery wings and introduce Britney Spears to the business end of my dick in a cloud.
