Bowie and Hilfiger Team Up for Fashion!
They are the goon squad and they're coming to town

OMFGROTFLMAO! David Bowie and Tommy Hilfiger have joined forces to create a new line of brand clothing. By their powers combined-- they can make you look simply fabulous! David Bowie and his supermodel wife Iman were chosen by Hilfiger as the "faces" of the new clothing line, redundantly named "H Hilfiger." Wonder what the 'H' stands for... could it be... hideous? Zoing!

You may all be wondering why in the world Hilfiger would choose Bowie and Iman as his new models. Sure, Bowie was big on fashion back in the day, and Iman is a supermodel (still?), but... I'm not going to use the words "old" and "washed up" in this article. I'll just let Hilfiger's press release do the work for me:

"David Bowie and Iman bring everything I'm looking for to represent this brand-- music, style, elegance, creativity, sophistication-- they're a living testament to all that influences and inspires me... David is not only a rock 'n' roll legend and a true artist, he's also a style icon whose evolving look over the years has had a huge impact on the world of fashion and music. Together they communicate the essence of the H Hilfiger lifestyle perfectly, and I am honored to feature them in my new campaign." Okay, I guess that answers my question.

Bowie was very pleased with the opportunity. As quoted in the aforementioned press release: "I very much admire Tommy's ability to weave so many influences into his work... Iman and I are thrilled to be working with him." And Iman? "I'm very taken by Tommy's new H Hilfiger line," says she. "And working with both David and Ellen Von Unwerth on this project is a real plus, and such a lot of fun." Shiiiiit.

The photo shoots took place this past month, and will debut in April of next year in various magazines. You all may be wondering exactly what this new "H Hilfiger" line looks like. Well, being a music journalist and not a member of the fashion release, I'll have my good friend press release do the talking: "H Hilfiger is sophisticated, sexy and refined, and its high-end quality and signature detailing make it the gold standard among Hilfiger's diverse product offerings." Okay, that helped.
