The strangely named unknowns Volcano, I'm Still Excited!! have signed to Polyvinyl Records, with a self-titled debut in the can and ready for release on February 3rd, 2004. The pop trio-- which features Casio, guitar, and a drum kit, complete with double bass drums-- has been touring extensively since the release of their home recorded Carbon Copy EP last year, entertaining and amusing dozens of unsuspecting audiences with their catchy music and bizarre stage antics. The album is packed with potential singles like "2nd Gun," a Strokes-esque new wave rocker, and "Trunk Of My Car," a lovelorn anthem sung in rounds. Ze tracklist:

The Volcanoes aren't complete strangers to Polyvinyl-- guitarist Craig Montoro recently played trumpet on Team Boo, the most recent release from (label)Mates of State. The band will begin touring again in support of the album early next year.
