The Rapture Re-Record New Single with Steve Lillywhite
Ferrell, Kattan pumped for "A Night at the Roxbury 2: Dancepunk Doofuses"

The Rapture, winners of Pitchfork's coveted Album of the Year award (to the apparent befuddlement of many of our readership), are set to storm into '04 by releasing a new version of album cut "Love Is All." Refreshing, since 2002's recipients Interpol have yet to release anything since, except for that crappy foreign Black EP. But I digress-- the point is, rest assured that the Rapture w-w-won't stop the beat (whoops, wrong band) anytime soon.

The single will come out on February 9th, according to New Musical Express. Music analysts (namely myself) have expressed some confusion at the choice for the new single, mostly due to its severe lack of shake-ya-assability. However, true to our headline, the band recently reworked the new song with producer Steve Lillywhite (U2, Morrissey, XTC, Big Country), so now I can only imagine that it sounds even less like, well, "House of Jealous Lovers." And, uh, more like a Dave Matthews Band song. It will certainly be interesting to hear The Rapture without the signature DFA sound stapled on. Well, maybe that means Lukey will be on key this time? We can only hope.

The video for "Love Is All" was shot by director Patrick Daughters, and contains footage from live shows at New York's Bowery Ballroom. NME also reports that Daughters is planning a documentary on the band based around said live appearances.

In addition to the "Love Is All" redux, the new single will contain a remix of "I Need Your Love," which is without a doubt the better booty-shaker of the two. The song is remixed by Ewan Pearson (Maas), perhaps best known for his work on The Flaming Lips/Chemical Brothers collab "The Golden Path."

The Rapture are headlining NME's Awards Tour, which also includes such artists as Franz Ferdinand. Dates? Oh yeah, we got dates:
