Strokes Single Pushed Back To Next Month Over Song Credit
Also, Nikolai's hair needed to be Photoshopped a little

Put down your wallet! Unpack your paper sack lunches! Unfurl your sleeping bag! The new single from The Strokes' Room On Fire has been pushed back. I know you were planning on getting to the store early to get in line for the January 12th release of "Reptilia," but you'll really be out there for a while if you head down tonight. And in this weather? Forget about it.

The single, which we told you about back in November, will now be released February 9th in the great state of England. Let's hear it for the northeast! It turns out there was a little problem with the credits on the disc which has caused the proverbial presses to be stopped. The artwork for the single, which is set to include a previously unreleased collaboration with New York songstress/Strokes tourmate Regina Spektor, apparently did not meet with singer Julian Casablancas' approval. The singer demanded that the song, "Modern Girls and Old-Fashioned Men," be credited to "Regina Spektor featuring the Strokes" rather than "The Strokes featuring Regina Spektor." (It's a good thing they didn't fuck up a Phil Spector credit, or the producer might have busted a cap in their ass.)

First McCartney/Lennon, now this? There's a good chance that 10,000 or so singles have already been pressed with the old version of the credits, so if you live in England (which I have just been informed is apparently not a state in the northeastern U.S.), keep an eye out for it. You'll thank yourself when you sell it later on eBay for 1.5 times what you paid for it.

In the meantime, the Strokes are taking a break from the wintry, snowbound hell of home and living it up in the warm January climes of New Zealand and Australia (bastards!). Dates:

01-16 Auckland, New Zealand - Auckland Ericsson Stadium
01-18 Gold Coast, Australia - Gold Coast Parklands
01-21 Sydney, Australia - Sydney Hordero
01-23 Sydney, Australia - Sydney Showground
01-26 Melbourne, Australia - Melbourne Ras Showgrounds
01-28 Melbourne, Australia - Palias Theatre
01-30 Adelaide, Australia - Royal Adelaide Showground
01-31 Perth, Australia - Lookout
02-01 Perth, Australia - Claremont Showgrounds
