After two years of production, Kendall Jane Meade, the busty New York musician that is Mascott, recently completed her latest album, Dreamer's Book. During the making of her latest opus, Meade took a sabbatical and traveled the globe alongside Mark Linkous' spooky pop machine, Sparklehorse, contributing her bass and keyboard talents to the band. Sparklehorse's Al Weatherhead reciprocated in kind by producing Dreamer's Book.

Meade's sophomore and debut albums were met with praise for their '70s pop sensibilities and beautiful '60s folk tunes, leaving fans anxious during Mascott's soon-to-be-resolved recording drought. Mascott's last release, from way-in-the-hell-back in 2001, Follow the Sound, came to us by the production hands of sonic man Jim O'Rourke (the original Nigel-what's-his-name) and was released on Le Grand Magistery. Dreamer's Book will be released on Meade's own label, Red Panda, and features cameos from old friends such as Parice Scott Minor (Sparklehorse), Mary Timony and Joan Wasser (Helium), Thom Monahan (Pernice Brothers) and Gary Olson (The Ladybug Transistor). The album is scheduled to hit stores February 10th.
