According to their label and management, Arts and Crafts, the highly regarded Broken Social Scene will embark on yet another tour of the U.S. in March, finally hitting some of those cities missed on their previous ventures. The first part of the month will be spent in the provinces on a small "package" tour with fellow Canadians The Stills and Raising the Fawn, sponsored by Canada's Exclaim magazine. The tour continues in the U.S., where the band will be bringing down houses from frigid Minneapolis to tepid Austin, where they'll play the famous SXSW Festival. The tour concludes in the east, where they'll team up with labelmates/best-friends-forever Stars. Enjoy:

Following our report in mid-January, überfans by the hundreds undoubtedly marked their calendars for March 23rd-- and if you haven't already, we remind you again. That's when Broken Social Scene will release Bee Hives, a collection of B-sides and new material. Check the archived story for the tracklist. Also, keep an eye on the Arts and Crafts Broken Social Scene Page for the "Almost Crimes" video, which the band has just finished shooting.

In other musical-collectives-spawning-more-musical-collectives news, Broken Social Scene's Brendan Canning and Charlie (also of Do Make Say Think) have teamed up with Sophie Trudeau of Godspeed You! Black Emperor/ A Silver Mt. Zion, Anthony Seck of Shalabi Effect, and Dierdre Smith from Strawberry, to form Valley of the Giants. Their combined talents will be showcased on February 10th, when Canada's up-and-coming superlabel Arts and Crafts will release the self-titled debut.
