The Constantines Spread Canadian Flair Across Europe, U.S.
Variablines change name every night, so we never know when they're playing

There used to be a time when there was little more to do then sit around with your friends and make fun of Canada. You know, bacon that's actually ham; all that low-scoring, unattended professional hockey; those zany accents of theirs; Molson. Granted, it's still pretty darn enjoyable, but with all the respectable music coming out of the Great White North these days, maybe those Canucks deserve a pat on the back, starting with The Constantines.

In support of last year's kick-ass Springsteen-meets-Fugazi (meets Eddie Vedder?) Shine A Light (Sub Pop), Bry Webb and the boys are heading out on the road to do Ontario proud. What's more, they're taking their act overseas in an effort to win the world over. Who knows? Maybe their jaunt across the Atlantic will convince the English to give up their Fuller's for Moosehead.

Following their European trek, The Constantines will return to the states to play a slew of American dates, including three nights in Texas for this year's SXSW festival. They'll be joined along the way by such acts as Oneida, The Wrens, and Pretty Girls Make Graves. That's a whole lot of love in any country, eh?
