Preston School of Industry Tour, Release Three Fucking Versions of New Album
Bush policies give band massive tax breaks for moving bonus tracks offshore

Hot on the tail on the release of their latest album, Monsoon, the lads (and lady) of Preston School of Industry are planning on spending March the old fashioned way-- touring the country. The tour launches with an appearance at the sprawling California musical event that is Noise Pop, as the band appears with the reunited American Music Club on the festival's final night. From there, they'll hit the better part of the U.S., including an appearance at the Matador showcase at SXSW and at a tastefully appointed, dimly lit club near you. Where, you ask? Why, here:

The Preston School of Industry's sophomore album, Monsoon, was released just this very week-- and each version of the album (U.S., Australian, Japanese) features its own personal goodies, so collect them all! The U.S. version includes videos for the Monsoon tracks "Caught in the Rain" and "Line it Up," as well as "Falling Away," from 2001's All This Sounds Gas. The Japanese version, as usual, will feature two bonus tracks (will the Japanese buy nothing without two bonus tracks?): "Mere Psued Mag Ed" and "At Kose." And the Aussies will be getting the best deal of all, as the first 1000 copies will include a bonus disc entitled Bootleg: Live in Chicago 2002 which includes a rendition of the Pavement classic "Western Homes." Tracklist for that:

01 Monkey Heart and the Horse's Leg
02 Encyclopedic Knowledge Of...
03 Somethings Happen Always
04 A Treasure @ Silver Bank (This Dynasty's For Real)
05 Western Homes [Pavement]
06 Falling Away
07 The Idea Of Fires
08 Take A Stand
09 Toff

Scott Kannberg (a.k.a. Spiral Stairs, a.k.a. the guy from Preston School of Industry, a.k.a. the guy from Pavement, a.k.a. the guy you're reading about), as you may or may not know, also runs a record label, Amazing Grease, which will also have some artists performing at SXSW this year. So if you happen to be swinging by Austin in time for the party, you can catch Film School and Canoe playing a showcase on Friday, March 19th, and the very same Porchlight BBQ Party that Preston School of Industry will be appearing at, on Saturday the 20th.
