Tindersticks Catalog Reissued, Expanded
So to answer your question, yes they could draw it out a bit more

The massively underrated and very prolific Tindersticks are reissuing a whole ton of material from their earlier days along with a lot of bonus material that collects singles, live albums, and sundry other rarities. There are to be a total of five reissues, each with an accompanying disc of bonus material‹ some of which comprises entire albums which are now hard to find, and some of which pulls together a miscellany of unreleased songs, demos, b-sides and the like.

There's also a two-disc compilation which treats the band's recorded output from the period when they were with the Island and This Way Up labels, and it's entitled, logically enough, Working for the Man: The Best of the Island/This Way Up Years 1992 - 1999. The compilation comes out April 5th in the UK, and the reissues are due to come out May 3rd over there on Universal. The band is hoping that Beggars Banquet will put this stuff out in the U.S. later in the summer. Furthermore, the group have two live shows lined up, as follows:

04-04 Camber Sands, UK - All Tomorrow's Parties
04-16 Lisbon, Portugal - Coliseum

The Tindersticks are also working on the release of a DVD to comprise all of the music videos and other short films that they have made over the years with Martin Wallace. This will also be forthcoming on Beggars Banquet. And somewhere in the midst of all this hoopla members of the Tindersticks hope soon to return to the studio to begin work on some new music, but not in the form of new Tindersticks material. The band's website tells us rather that band members will be working on a variety of side projects, soundtracks and "one-offs."

The reissue of the Tindersticks' self-titled album from 1993 has been remastered, and will be accompanied by an album of demos which laid the ground for that first release. These demos were recorded in London shortly after the band's first incarnation, the Asphalt Ribbons, broke up. The package contains the album's original artwork as well as some extra liner notes by Tindersticks founder David Boulter. Tracklist for the bonus disc:

01 The Sorrow the Joy Brings [early version of "Nectar"]
02 Fruitless
03 Whisky and Water/For Those
04 Blood
05 City Sickness
06 Patchwork
07 Raindrops
08 Piano Song
09 A Sweet Sweet Man
10 Visiting/Drunk Tank

The second album, which was also self-titled and originally appeared in 1995, has also been remastered and is accompanied by Live at the Bloomsbury, which in its first iteration was limited to just 3000 vinyl copies; this also contains additional liner notes by Boulter. Tracklist:

01 El Diablo En El Ojo
02 A Night In
03 Talk To Me
04 She's Gone
05 No More Affairs
06 City Sickness
07 Vertrauen II
08 Sleepy Song

14 For Those....

The third Tindersticks album, which first came out in 1997, actually had a name, Curtains and like the other reissues has been remastered. This reissue comes bundled with a bonus disc of contemporary singles and b-sides. Tracklist for the bonus disc:

01 Bathtime [single version, remixed from album]
02 Paco's Theme ["Bathtime" b-side]
03 Shadow ["Bathtime" b-side]
04 Manilow ["Bathtime" b-side]
05 Rented Rooms [single version, remixed from album]
06 Rented Rooms [swing version, big band recording, promo-only]
07 Make Believe ["Rented Rooms" b-side]
08 Marriage Made in Heaven [orchestral version from Donkeys with Isabella Rossellini]
09 For Those? [orchestral version from Donkeys]

In 1996 the band completed the soundtrack to the Clair Denis' film Nenette et Boni, which itself comprised a mixture of old, new and rearranged material. The reissue of this particular album is accompanied by Mark's Moods, a compilation originally produced and distributed as a 1500-copy promo-only CD in the U.S. by Polygram, and which was sent to film producers and music supervisors, presumably with a view to getting the band more soundtrack work. The band wanted to include this in the reissue bonanza because copies of the original have apparently been changing hands for what they describe as "silly prices" and they wanted to make it more easily and cheaply available. Tracklist:

01 Ballad N.Y.
02 No More Affairs
03 Nenette S'en Va
04 Buried Bones
05 La Mort De Felix
06 Paco's Theme
07 Harry's Dilemma
08 Lets Pretend
09 Sleepy Song
10 Ballad L.A.
11 Don't Look Down
12 Rhumba
13 For Those....

The band's final release on the Island label, Simple Pleasure, from 1999, also includes a bonus disc of unreleased material, demos and b-sides:

01 Twisted Wheel [demo which later became "Can We Start Again"]
02 One Way Street [b-side of "Can We Start Again"]
03 (You're a) Pussycat [unreleased track from the album sessions)
04 If She's Torn [original demo)
05 A Little Time [b-side of "Can We Start Again"]
06 Pretty Words [demo]
07 (You Take) This Heart of Mine [demo]
08 I Know That Loving [Adrian Sherwood remix]
09 David's Soul [unreleased song, demo]
10 If You're Looking For a Way Out [demo]
11 Puppy Fat [b-side of "Can We Start Again"]
12 CFGF [demo]

And if all of this is just a little daunting, you could ease yourself into the Tindersticks' recorded output by checking out Working for the Man.
