Pixies Expand World Tour, Set Street Date for DVD and "Best Of" Comp; Strokes Collaboration Possible
Requests for "Kicked in the Taco" to be roundly ignored

In the recent tradition of keeping our headlines flooded with Pixies updates, we bring you more of the latest news concerning our reunited foursome. The band has expanded their reunion to include an expansive 35 dates, up from their originally scheduled 11-date itinerary, spanning months beyond the initial finale, Coachella. Venues across the globe have sold out in less then five minutes, most recently Freeborn Hall at the University of California, Davis, which has the capacity to hold 1,775 warm bodies. The Prarieland, a venue in snowy Saskatoon, Canada, recently doubled the capacity and still maxed-out with fans. And in the era of ticket purchases via the Internet, the audience will most likely consist of Pixies fans with high-speed DSL connections or those desperate enough to purchase their tickets for $100+ through eBay (this slow-computer toting newswriter belonging to the latter demographic). Along with the tour, DVD, best of compilation and endless excitement, The Strokes' Albert Hammond, Jr recently announced the two bands' intentions for a possible collaboration on BBC Radio 1. Says Al: "We're lucky enough to be playing with The Pixies, which is a dream come true, really, and who knows? Maybe something happens with the band. But you know, it's more fun to be spontaneous with that. Maybe it happens like a surprise and not anything that's said before, you know?" Right. Maybe you could get Nigel Godrich to produce it.
