!!! to Drop New Album in June
??? still don't know shit about nothin'

Holy piss! We were just talking about this last week at the Pitchfork Penthouse in downtown Miami. I was like, "Those boys ain't doing jack fuck. Where's this album already?!" And Tom Selleck's all, "Higgins, you ain't up on this." But man, they were doing jack fuck all along, and where we were? Shooting blow up our spines and trying to figure out who's president. The email came late last week from Warp Records: "The seven piece New York/Sacramento outfit (yes, there used to be eight, but now there isn't) have announced details of their highly anticipated second album." I'm totally chagrined.

Recorded during the fall of last year at various studios and practice spaces, and produced entirely by the band themselves, !!!'s new album is titled Louden Up Now, and is scheduled for UK release on June 7th through Warp Records, and June 8th in the U.S. via Touch & Go. The tracklist looks like this:

01 When the Going Gets Tough, the Tough Gets Krazee
02 Dear Can
03 Pardon My Freedom
04 The King's Weed
05 Hello? Is This Thing On?
06 ShitScheisseMerde (Part 1)
07 ShitScheisseMerde (Part 2)
08 Space Island
09 Me and Guliani Down By the Schoolyard
10 ShitScheisseMerde (Part 1)

The band reports having "a shitload of alternate tracks" finished, and is apparently readying several 12-inches for release. The first of these, a limited-edition club single, will precede the release of Louden Up Now on May 8th, and we have been informed that it will not disappoint "anyone who fell for their UK debut single Me and Giuliani Down by the School Yard (A True Story) last year." Tracklist:

A1 Pardon My Freedom
B1 ShitScheisseMerde (Part 2)
B2 Pardon My Freedom (Maurice Fulton Instrumental Mix)

A tour is in the works to support the record, but dates have yet to be firmed up. In the meantime, you and your richest, most ambitious friends can catch the band at the Coachella Fest in Indio, California on May 2nd, and at soon-to-be-announced European festivals over the summer. Additionally, Brainwashed is hosting a 41-minute video of !!! and their sister band Out Hud, featuring an interview with Justin Vandervolgen, and live footage of the band in concert and in their basement studios.
