Morrissey Tracklist, Live Dates Announced
Plans well underway to buy you, sell you, bill you for the pleasure, make your parents cry

Pitchfork's Chris Rediske reported earlier this month on details of the imminent new Morrissey album, You Are the Quarry, as well as the old bruiser's plans to curate London's Meltdown Festival later in the year (as Stephen himself put it in the Meltdown press release, "Some of you have iPods, I have Meltdown"), and his impending collaboration with new labelmate Nancy Sinatra. We now have a full tracklist for the album and details of a leadoff single. The album, due May 18th in the U.S., will be preceded-- in the UK, at least-- by a single, "Irish Blood, English Heart" on May 10th. A full tracklist is not yet available for the single release (which will be available both on CD and 7" vinyl), but the one we've got for the album is official:

01 America Is Not the World
02 Irish Blood, English Heart
03 I Have Forgiven Jesus
04 Come Back to Camden
05 I'm Not Sorry
06 The World Is Full of Crashing Bores
07 How Could Anybody Possibly Know How I Feel?
08 The First of the Gang to Die
09 Let Me Kiss You
10 All The Lazy Dykes
11 I Like You
12 You Know I Couldn't Last

Further details of the album are emerging as the release date comes closer. While the tracklist boasts song titles redolent of many old Morrissey themes, the man himself has said in a recent statement that the record contains "no links to the past. This is a much brighter sounding album than much of my previous work. We've turned the page with Quarry. It's a dynamic album and I couldn't be any happier." That brighter sound includes keyboards, mandolin, flute, harp and Moog, among other accompaniment.

A full tour is expected to follow the album's release, but several UK shows, billed as "Morrissey in Person", are already sold out: a Manchester show to take place on May 22nd moved 16,000 tickets in 90 minutes. Morrissey has also just announced a five-night residency at The Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles, CA, on April 22nd, 23rd, 24th, 26th & 27th. Tickets are available through his official site in advance of the official ticket sale date of March 27th. These shows may already have sold out by the time you read this; such is the devotion of the Morrissey fan family, but we're trying our best to spread the love. Oh, give us money.
