New website, new album, new tour... same old Tortoise. As Joan Rivers can attest, however, a facelift can be just the thing to jump-start a new you, and Tortoise-- with the assistance of designer Deborah Johnson, owner and operator of Candystations-- have launched a glorious new website, which, in addition to a lot of other crazy crap, will allow you to stream their new album, It's All Around You, in its entirety. Johnson will also be assisting the band in the delivery of-- remember these?-- a webcast of Tortoise's upcoming Washington, DC performance on April 24th.

The bigger news, of course, is that Tortoise have just embarked upon a rather incredible 66-date tour-- including 23 shows throughout Europe, and culminating in a July 24th performance in Moscow. The guys kicked it off last Wednesday in Detroit, and have since covered the obligatory remote Canadian locales (including Toronto), and that cultural mecca, Winooski, VT. Tonight they're at Toad's Place in New Haven, CT with ex-Anti Pop Consortium member Beans and Frenchkiss art-punks Ex-Models, who, along with The New Year, will be opening their U.S. dates in various configurations.
