Six Organs of Admittance Tour U.S., Plan New LP
Inept Goonies fail to past even first organ

It's easy to envision Ben Chasny at the edge of some ashen forest locale. Performing as Six Organs of Admittance, his music surfaces from behind a dusky sheen, layers of unplugged guitars both mystic and mournful. Plus, the man's work is decidedly more accessible than that of his free-folk contemporaries in Charalambides or Tower Recordings; last year's Compathia was a lightly whispered, almost intangibly rustic affair, heavy on atmosphere but light on the abstract.

And now, Chasny's taking his brand of nocturnal folk on the road. The tour launched a week ago at Portland, ME's SPACE Gallery, and since then, he's hit most of the Northeast, even playing two shows with Sunburned Hand of the Man. Another two shows are scheduled with Current 93, but were regrettably sold out over two months in advance. Dates:

In related news, Chasny is set to record his first studio-crafted Six Organs album in the coming summer months, pegged for release on Drag City. A collaboration with like-minded acid-folkster L, also known as Hiroyuki Usui, is currently nearing completion. A CD pressing of the Organs' sold out 2004 LP, For Octavio Paz, will be released on Holy Mountain in a couple of months, complete with extra material.
