Mother files restraining order after latest in series of increasingly Oedipal records

Exams are over and Professor Sam Beam is ready to take his band to Europe through May, in support of his newly released sophomore album, Our Endless Numbered Days. He'll kick it off with a date on Wednesday at an unpronounceable cafe in Lerida, Spain, before hightailing it, Griswold-style, through Italy, Scandinavia, and the UK in just 14 days. Sufjan Stevens and Sub Pop singer/songwriter Rosie Thomas join up for five nights in Scotland and England, a combination that may resurrect the lost art of gobbing. Or at least that's what they'll have to tell Thomas.

After that, Iron & Wine will make their way back to the United States of America, where they've so far got a whopping nine dates planned-- mostly on the east coast-- that will, for the most part, avoid redneck chatter, quiet music's natural enemy. The band is also scheduled to appear on an episode of Late Nite with Carson Daly on May 5th, coincidentally the very night the European tour begins. Dates:
