Sonic Youth to Release Complete Videography on DVD
Footage of Kim Gordon birthing Coco actually kind of gratuitous

Sonic Youth have been releasing music for 23 years. To give some perspective on that number, they predate Sting's solo career. Naturally, it wouldn't be unreasonable to approach any other band still performing at this point with tremendous reserve, but miraculously, you don't gotta worry about it with the 'Youth. Aught-two's Murray Street landed at #9 on our end-of-the-year round-up, and our esteemed Editor-in-Chief Ryan Schreiber (just talkin' myself up -Ed.) recently awarded "Unmade Bed"-- a track pulled from the band's forthcoming Sonic Nurse LP-- a five-star rating. Not that their track record is entirely unstained (I don't think I need to go there right now), but this band continues to eviscerate, a point that isn't often contended. Except by Chris Ott, who just likes to argue.

But let me tell you something you (probably) don't know: The band has just announced they'll be releasing their first-ever DVD on June 8th-- the same date Sonic Nurse is slated to hit the streets. Entitled Corporate Ghost, the disc is set to contain 23 music videos from their tenure on Geffen-- including the visual entirety of 1990's Goo-- complete with commentary from the band and their collaborators, who include Spike Jonze, Tamra Davis, Kathleen Hanna, Jason Lee, and Vincent Gallo, who was tapped to direct the "Unmade Bed" video. Additionally, Corporate Ghost will contain a copious scoop of interviews, live performances, and other miscellaneous goodies that expertly assembled musical DVDs are wont to contain.

Corporate Ghost is assembled and produced by a mister Lance Bangs, who was also responsible for Pavement's Slow Century and the David Cross DVD Let America Laugh. Video list looks a little something like this:
