Morrissey Readies Two DVDs, Confirms Meltdown Lineup
Remaining international playboys to open all dates, November's monster too crippled to attend

With Morrissey apparently intent on ensuring that his comeback is as multi-faceted as is humanly possible, the news just keeps flowing, to the delight of fanboys (and girls!) everywhere. Hot on the heels of his recently announced new album, You are the Quarry, comes an upcoming DVD remaster and reissue of two Morrissey VHS releases-- Hulmerist and The Malady Lingers On. According to NME, both films will be released on May 31st, which could make May officially The Month of Morrissey. After all, You are the Quarry is due out on May 17th and its first single, "Irish Blood, English Heart", arrives May 10th.

Hulmerist is a collection of early Morrissey videos, and also features footage from a famous live performance from 1988 at Wolverhampton Civic Hall. The Malady Lingers On, meanwhile, picks up the videos where Hulmerist leaves off, collecting a number of mid-period clips, including five from Your Arsenal, as well as "Sing Your Life", "My Love Life", and "Pregnant for the Last Time".

Morrissey also recently signed on for this year's Lollapalooza tour, joining Sonic Youth, PJ Harvey, Modest Mouse, The Flaming Lips, and a bunch of other bands you've heard of. We'll tell you all about that in a dedicated (and well researched, natch) story to come, but for the moment, we've got the dates (keeping in mind that Morrissey is just playing the first date of each two-day Lollapalooza stop), courtesy of fansite Morrissey-Solo.com. He's also hitting the requisite festival rounds in Europe this summer, and getting ready for an imminent five-day stand in New York. Fuck LL, call it a comeback! Dates:

Finally, as we previously reported, Morrissey has been chosen to curate this year's UK Meltdown Festival-- a sort of Europalooza in which an artist other than Perry Farrell is given free reign to arrange their dream program, which then takes place in London over the course of two weeks. And the lineup is confirmed! As it turns out, Morrissey's dream bill unsurprisingly includes a performance from himself, as well as by The Libertines, Sparks, Nancy Sinatra, and the reunited New York Dolls, among, many, many, many others. It's gonna be some cool shit, probably, so let's hope you've been building up the bonus miles. Look here:
