Yo La Tengo Reveal Spring Tour Dates
"Christmas in July" at Maxwell's cancelled due to conflicting religions

Having fully recuperated from an extensive world tour in support of their last full-length, Summer Sun, Yo La Tengo have announced plans for another 15-date North American tour, mostly covering the southern and western United States. However, the tour will kick off on May 24th with one solitary Canadian date at Vancouver, BC's could-only-have-been-established-in-1973 venue Richard's on Richards. After that, the band will traverse the western landscape, cruising down through Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, and Los Angeles, before driving all over the goddamn south.

Supporting Yo La Tengo on the bulk of the dates will be the newly reunited Louisville, KY jangle-pop band Antietam. The band is frequently referred to as "the south's answer to Yo La Tengo," which, in theory, should mean the shows will be something like getting to see the same band twice. Only Antietam have more members. And totally other songs. During their original 12-year run in the 80s and 90s, Antietam released six full-lengths on labels such as Homestead and Triple X, before finally collapsing after 1994's Rope-A-Dope. Last week, the band issued Victory Park on Carrot Top, their first album in ten years, featuring a guest appearance from YLT's Ira Kaplan. Check 'em out on the asterisk'd dates below:
