Members of Quasi, Stooges, Swell Maps Contribute to Comp

Chrome Peeler Records has just released the second volume of their unique You've Got Your Orders compilation series. The first volume came about when label owner Jason Ziemniak made up a list of song titles and sent them to various musician friends, requesting that they compose a song around their given title for a compilation. Surprisingly, since artists are renowned for following through on their promises (HOOOOONK-- irony buzzer), many of the solicited musicians failed to complete the assignment.

Ziemniak then decided to reach for the moon (having recently learned from an inspirational calendar that he just might miss and grab the stars instead) and sent the list to various independent music luminaries he admired, many of whom followed through where his buddies assed out. One attempts to imagine the scene. "Hey Jason, sorry I haven't gotten around to doing that song for you..." "Oh, that's okay, pal, I got Mike Watt to fill your spot. " "Mike Wa... hey, I think I can get you a song by the weekend, can I still get in on this? " "Oh, I don't know, the roster's pretty full now, what with Mudhoney's Mark Arm and Thurston freaking Moore on board..."

You've Got Your Orders Vol. 2 is available via the Chrome Peeler website or the upcoming supporting tour. It's limited to 999 copies (if inverting a cross makes it evil, does inverting the number of the beast make it holy?), so you better get in where you fit in, dog. Ziemniak, who must be one hell of a sweet-talker, has amassed another butt-tight roster to flesh out his titles, including members of The Eagles of Death Metal, Swell Maps (fuggin' Swell Maps, dude!), Silver Apples, Dramarama, Fu Manchu, Blue Goblin (i.e. Quasi's Sam Coomes), The Stooges, Shudder to Think, Paradise Island (aka Jenny from Erase Errata), Cave In, Amps for Christ, Swans, and on and on.
