Silkworm to Spin New Album This Fall
Band still neglecting to capitalize on "anal horn" angle of titular larva

According to a rep for Touch & Go Records, indie rock stalwarts Silkworm are planning to release a fresh slab o' wax titled It'll Be Cool in the fall. It'll Be Cool will be the band's eighth studio full-length since forming in Missoula, MT way the fuck back in 1987, and the official follow-up to 2002's Italian Platinum. A source close to the band (who actually calls himself "Mr. No Help") reports that the new album was recorded and mixed between June 2003 and May 2004. He also clocks the record at a scant 37 minutes, and reveals that it will contain seven tracks, of which "no two songs are alike." 'Course, that could've been said for Italian Platinum as well, and it made my cat's pajamas look like your everyday dog's bollocks. A June tour of the midwest is also reportedly in the works to support the new record. Though no venues-- or even dates, really-- have been officially verified yet, the good money says they'll take place mainly around the band's current hometown of Chicago. A Japanese tour has been in the works for months, and is currently slated for July, but even at press time, it more closely resembles a scavenger hunt. Says the band's blog:

"We appear to be heading to Japan sometime in July, right around the 13th through the 20th, playing shows around Kobe and around Tokyo and maybe Osaka. Something like that. I don't know! I've never been to Japan! And neither have you, so you should come on over. We'll be like babes in the wood-- but together, in a herd. Actually, maybe some of you are in Japan. In that case, you should just come on over to the rock shows. We'll be fightin' mad. We'll be spittin' fire."
