M83 Album Expanded to 2xCD for U.S. Release
But not due in galaxy of the same name for another 4 billion light years

Last year, M83's sophomore album, Dead Cities, Red Seas & Lost Ghosts made a fine showing on our Top 50 albums list, sandwiched at #8 between Broken Social Scene's You Forgot It in People and The Shins' Chutes Too Narrow-- despite only being available in France via the up-and-coming electronic label Gooom. Apparently, America didn't rate at the time. Joke's on them, though-- good luck finding 2 Live Crew's As Nasty as They Wanna Be in Gay Paree.

However, Mute Records knows what's up, and will be rectifying the album's stateside inavailability on July 27th, via a double-disc expanded North American release. Mute's reissue will feature a value-added bonus disc boasting five bonus tracks and two videos. The bonus tracks include a new version of "In Church", a live rendition of album track "Gone", and a song called "God of Thunder", which probably isn't a cover of the Kiss song, but if it is, how awesome is that? M83 is expected to kick off a North American tour in support of the re-release beginning this September, though dates are yet to be announced.
