Franz Ferdinand to Release New Single
Right-wing protesters deem "Auf Achse" too anti-Brittanican

Those funky mothers in Franz Ferdinand have just been hogging all the hype lately, and infinitesimal attention spans across the Western world are just like, "Elefant who?" And to keep those tsunamic presswinds blowing, Domino Records plans to release, yes, a fourth single from the band's debut disco-bomb in mid-July. According to the band's official website, the UK-only single will reportedly send a radio-friendlier rendition of the song "Michael" off to the BBC airwaves: Franz reveal that they've given the track a serious overhaul-- with plenty of handclaps and cowbell, one would hope. The disc will come backed with "a brand new B-side and reworked version of non-album material" which the band laid to tape in Hamburg, Germany, a locale synonymous in all our hearts and minds with fun, foppish funk-rock. Tracklist:

01 Michael
02 Don't Start
03 Love & Destroy
04 Missing You

And now, for your pleasure, a brief rundown of other Franz Ferdinand fetes and activities, per their official URL: 1) Daft Punk have remixed their song "Take Me Out", revealing to French publication InRocks that they've submitted the remix to Domino for approval; 2) FF frontman/sexy bitch Alex Kapranos has been voted the second sexiest rock star in an NME poll, edging out The Strokes' Fab Moretti, but not quite panty-soaking enough to best The Libertines' Carl Barat; and finally, 3) The group will appear on Late Night with Conan O'Brien on Wednesday, June 16th, which sounds like a pretty good time... FOR ME TO... ahh, fuckin' forget it.
