When last we left Iron & Wine (just a scant month ago), Pitchfork's dashing, daring, do-gooding reporter Ashford Tucker was bitching all about the lack of U.S. dates on their recently announced world tour. "Boo fuckin' hoo, but no one plays folk music in my town. Oh, woe is me!" He was onto something, though: The fact is, this is America, goddamnit, and if you don't like something, you can complain all day long until someone finally makes it better. Sometimes it even works. To wit: Sam Beam and his ramblin' bande of bards are exploding the North American leg of their upcoming tour. Hey, thanks, Ashford!

According to the band's official webbe site, they've added a total of eight shows during June and July, nearly doubling their time on the continent that, you know, they're from. Of course, they're still coming nowhere near the West Coast on this jaunt, preferring to stick mainly to the prevailing winds of the Eastern seaboard, but who knows what the future will bring?
