The Gloria Record Pack It In
Yess! I mean... oh.

Arena Rock Recording Company quintet The Gloria Record, who formed out of the smouldering, cursed ashes of 90s emo-indie stalwarts Mineral, have officially broken up... sort of? Okay, we'll tell you what's up and maybe you can help us sort it out. According to a recent post on the band's website, they were about halfway through recording their latest full-length when they found themselves no longer able to continue, and they sound about as confused by the situation as we are: "Although as many as 14 ideas in varying states of developement [sic] were committed to tape, not one of them has emerged in a completed form since that time. In fact, very little has happened to further any of the material's progress. It saddens me to announce that the five of us are no longer working together on this music, nor do we have any plans to do so in the near future."

The post goes on to say that the band is on "indefinite hiatus," but also clarifies that, although it is not meant to imply permanent disbandment, none of them have any desire to work together on music now or in the future. Therefore, it is not meant to imply a permanent breakup, but rather a breakup that is decidedly permanent. Like a sex change, kind of. This, of course, also means that any dates the band had previously scheduled have now been cancelled, and you'll have to go see Dashboard instead. Which is your good luck-- Chris Carrabba is way hotter.
