Decahedron Gear Up for Summer Tour
Math cats calculate likeliness of band sharing future bill with Fugazi

If you've ever been in a band, you understand how difficult, engrossing, and utterly aggravating choosing the perfect band name can be. A common scenario: The aspiring musicians sit in the drummer's living room and discuss the band's purpose/goals/intentions in an analytical manner, uncharacteristic of their usual immature banter. The name must encompass the band as whole, as it will act as a vessel to carry the most important part, the music, from point A to point B. It must be unique, but not unpronounceable. It must be chant-able, and it must vaguely convey your sound through one or two carefully chosen words. After several hours (or days) of debate, two thirds of band settle on a name, a minor fight breaks out-- and it's official.

But if you're a big pain in the ass, like the members of indie trio The Black Sea (and yes, we know, it wasn't really their fault), you just do whatever the fuck you want and confuse everyone in the process. After recently changing their name to Decahedron (in apparent homage to ten-sided things everywhere) they released their debut this April via Lovitt Records, titled Disconnection Imminent. Although the new name and album title make the band sound like some kind of gathering of file-sharing Kraftwerk cult members, they seem content with the moniker-- for now. The reborn trio will hit the road this July to assault (in a good way) the North Eastern U.S. and Canada. Dates, my pretties:
