Pixies' Add Dates to Fall Tour
Cherish playing in raindrops among the orchids, but still recede into the brush at the onset of approaching footsteps

It's a fair bet that history will remember 2004 as the year of the Pixies (Presidential election? What the fuck are you talking about?). With their first new song in ages, months of touring behind them, and many more months of stomping the pavement to come, the most important band (hyperbole alert!) of the 80s, 90s and today (plus, the future and beyond) have continued to surprise us with their sudden, constant presence in the music world.

Ah, I remember how it all began-- first there was hope, then there were rumors, then came unofficial websites with unofficial announcements, then, finally, the official announcements... until it all came to fruition with a North American tour that ended with a triumphant set at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts festival. Now, following schedule readjustments, the cancellation of Lollapalooza, and more than a month spent overseas, the Pixies' itinerary has bloated like a dead carp, and now encompasses nearly 60 scheduled dates before the year's end.
