Gooom Disques Secures U.S. Distribution
GOOOM SQUAD!

As reported last month in these very pages, French IDM golden children M83 have reissued their delightful album, Dead Cities, Red Seas & Lost Ghosts, in the U.S. (with bonus tracks, natch). Now, massed together like a digital rugby scrum, the rest of their labelmates on the Gooom label have busted out of the Euro-zone to exchange their wares directly for your crumpled, coke-stained American greenbacks. The Gooom mob encompass plenty of the purty ambient gleam you've come to expect, but also the Funkstorung/Prefuse-style click-hop crossover of Abstrackt Keal Agram, and a growing number of collaborations with Anglophone artists like Alias and Isan. And now they're all yours-- at domestic prices!

Independent Illinois distro powerhouse Parasol has announced plans to distribute Gooom products to retail stores-- with the exception of the two bands (M83, Cyann & Ben) who have already secured North American distribution. Parasol's mail-order service will also carry the label's complete catalog, and is presently hyping up Purple Confusion's The Sound of the Splitting Atom, a 2002 release which features M83's Anthony Gonzales and Nicolas Fromageau as core members, as well as members of Mils, Moughqual, and Bertuf, and label founder Jean-Philippe Talaga.
