Sub Pop to Reissue Constantines Debut
Carthaginians flock to Virgin MegaStore

What do good, hardworking bands do? They book long, extensive tours that venture into every single state; they churn out albums like motherfuckers; they update their goddamn website every now and then. Guess what? The Constantines are not one of those bands. Sure, they were out on tour this spring, but in terms of output, they aren't exactly prolific. Since their sophomore effort, Shine a Light, was highlighted as a Pitchfork Best New Music pick last year, The Constantines have been reveling in their newfound success, and haven't even started planning the recording of a follow-up. Bah!

But there is a bit of good news for people who love kind-of-good news: The band's current U.S. label, Sub Pop, are giving The Constantines' eponymous debut its first official release south of the (Canadian) Border. The album was first issued by the Canadian label Three Gut Records, and has long been available for mailorder at the label's website. Those of you frightened or confused by the Canadian dollar, don't fret - according to Sub Pop, the shiny new version of The Contantines will be released on August 8th of this fine year.
