Battles, a new band featuring former Don Caballero guitarist Ian Williams and ex-Helmet drummer John Stainer, will be heading out on the road this month for a tour that will take them throughout the Midwest before finally ending up where everybody eventually does-- the West Coast. Joining Battles on the road will be The Icarus Line, whose recent release Penance Soiree aims to define freak-out post-punk rock 'n' roll, which, now that I think about it, is sorely in need of some kind of set definition.

The tour is in support of Battles' two brand new EP releases on Monitor Records, EP C and Tras, Fantasy. The discs come packed with experimental guitarwork and dense, hyperactive, jazzy rock-- and even though Battles doesn't sound that much like Don Caballero, Williams' guitar style is instantly recognizable. Battles are said to have a rather explosive live show, so if you're in the mood to have your face blown off, show up at one of the following dates (all dates feature The Icarus Line):
