Statistics Reveal U.S. Tour Dates
9 out of 10 showgoers just waiting around for sympathy fuck

So my little brother is like, "You write for Pitchfork?" and I'm all, "Yeah." And he says, "Well, you should write about the new Statistics tour. You see, they aren't just a two-steps-removed Saddle Creek band. Hell no! True, Denver Dalley was in Conor Oberst's part-time gig Desaparecidos. And Tim Kasher of Cursive pitched in on Statistics' debut full-length Leave Your Name, as did the inescapable Mogis brothers. "And yet--" he said, then abruptly ran away.

So I was left to discover on my own that Dalley's center-stage turn under the Statistics name owes as much to 90s shoegazers as to the work of his fellow Omaha residents. Bet you thought all the shoegaze fans had slit their throats when they heard that Dykehouse album, huh? Not so. Mostly they just don't go outside. Anyway, Statistics will tour in August, starting in Philadelphia and ending no further west than Salt Lake City. What, are they afraid of tides or something?
