Von Bondies Plan 37-Date North American Tour

Proving that a video in the MTV Buzz Bin and a very public whuppin' from Jack White isn't enough to mount a successful career in music (although it sure as hell should be), Detroit's Von Bondies will be heading out on two non-consecutive monthlong U.S. tours starting in September and winding all over this great continent of ours. The band has pretty much been touring nonstop since the release of their third LP, Pawn Shoppe Heart, back in March, but that's not stopping them from giving it another go

The Bondies will be joined for the first leg of the tour by former Hole and Smashing Pumpkins bassist Melissa Auf Der Maur, who drops her first name these days to pretend she's a band instead of a person. Her debut solo album, Auf Der Maur, was released back in June. No one's pretending it's very good. Then, beginning in November, The Donnas will take over the opening duties to pummel you with their unique brand of 17-year-old girl-rock. Wait, are you honestly telling me that they aren't 17 anymore? But they look... oh. I guess I hadn't seen them in a while. Well, at any rate, they've got a new album due out in October that will feature their unique brand of 25-year-old woman rock. Whatever that sounds like. The dates:
