Frog Eyes Reveal Details of Next LP, Tour U.S.

Canadian experimental rock outfit Frog Eyes are releasing their third full-length via Absolutely Kosher on September 14th, and are following it up with a thorough North American tour. The album, entitled The Folded Palm, is the third Frog Eyes-related release of 2004, following the limited edition acoustic record Ego Scriptor and vocalist Carey Mercer's solo joint under the name Blackout Beach. The tracklist for the proper follow-up to 2003's quite favorably reviewed The Golden River looks a hell of a lot like this:

01 The Fence Feels its Post
02 The Akhian Press
03 I Like Dot Dot Dot
04 Bells in the Crooked Port
05 New Soft Mother Hood Alliance
06 Ship Destroyer
07 The Heart that Felt its Light
08 The Oscillator's Hum
09 Important Signals Will Break the Darkness (this I hope)
10 New Tappy is Hear and Beheld
11 Ice on the Trail
12 A Library Used to Be (black hole and its concentrated edges)

As previously reported in our virtual pages, Frog Eyes, as well as opening for Destroyer on a recent tour, also acted as Destroyer frontman Dan Bejar's backing band on the jaunt. At the conclusion of said tour, the two bands decided to record a collaborative EP, reworking Destroyer tunes from Your Blues with a distinctly Frog Eyes bent. Although we don't have a confirmed tracklist, that EP is still due out this January on Merge Records.

Meanwhile, the road is eagerly beckoning to Frog Eyes, and they have responded in kind. They'll be hitting most of the States and a great deal of Canada over the course of September and October, with more November West Coast dates to be announced soon.
